The service

Semiterra tells you what to sow, plant and harvest in the vegetable garden, and when, based on the climate and altitude of your town. The website also offers plant pages, monthly calendars by climate and a blog. Access is free and requires no sign-up.

Nature of the information

The dates given are averages computed from historical climate data (1991-2020) and reference growing calendars. They are provided for information only. The weather of the year, the microclimate of your garden (exposure, valley floor, lakeside), the soil and the variety grown may call for adjustments. Companion planting is shown with its level of evidence: much of it rests on tradition rather than scientific studies.

Articles written with the help of artificial intelligence

The blog articles are written with the help of artificial intelligence from Semiterra's data, then reviewed by our team before publication. Their illustrations are generated by artificial intelligence. Despite this review, an error remains possible: please let us know if you spot one.
